Day
1
LOS ANGELES
Arrive in Los Angeles and proceed to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. Whether it's Universal Studios or Disneyland, the beach or Beverly Hills, there is much to see and do in the 'City of Angels'.
Day
2
LOS ANGELES
Take the day to experience the city that has come to epitomize the American Dream – the gilded opulence of Beverly Hills and Malibu, the legendary beaches, prestigious museums and art galleries, fabulous theater, and the fantasy worlds of Disneyland, and Universal Studios. Of course, no trip to L.A. would be complete without a stop at the Venice Beach Boardwalk or a visit to Mann's Chinese Theater and the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Day
3
LOS ANGELES » CALICO » LAS VEGAS (277 mi / 446 km)
Depart the metropolis of Los Angeles and cross the San Gabriel mountain rage past San Bernardino before heading into the Mojave Desert. Stop in Barstow for lunch or shopping at the numerous outlet malls lining the freeway. If time allows, make a stop in Calico Ghost town, once a booming silver town where whiskey was cheaper than water. Pass Baker, a hot desert community known for its tall thermometer, before arriving in Las Vegas, the glittering city of Lady Luck
Day
4
LAS VEGAS
This is a day at leisure. Las Vegas is a city that never sleeps. The “Strip” will mesmerize you with its dazzling lights, casino action and opulent hotels with their lavish shows and headline performers. Try your hand with “Lady Luck” or see one of the famous shows. Take the time to visit the well known resorts with their individual themes and a myriad of attractions or just relax poolside
Day
5
LAS VEGAS » ZION NATIONAL PARK (170 mi / 275 km)
Leave the glittering, bustling metropolis behind and head into some quiet, magnificent works of nature. On the way, take a short detour and visit Nevada’s oldest State Park, Valley of Fire. The rough floor and jagged walls of the park contain brilliant formations of eroded sandstone and sand dunes that often appear to be on fire when reflecting the sun's rays. Continue on to Zion National Park, a monument of time carved by wind and water and well known for geological features with names like The Three Patriarchs, Bridge Mountain, White Throne and the hidden Temple of Sinawava.
Day
6
ZION NATIONAL PARK – DEATH VALLEY NATIONAL PARK / RIDGECREST (411 mi / 662 km)
The first half of today’s route retraces your drive to Las Vegas and then continues into the new territory. From Las Vegas, travel westward to Death Valley National park. This area of unexpected contrasts offers barren desolation, including the lowest point in the Western Hemisphere, and mountains over 11,000 ft (3,353 m). Visit Zabriskie Point for impressionable views of the valley. Hike among the sand dunes and colorful formations before visiting the oasis of Furnace Creek. Cross the high desert Town Pass with spectacular views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and descend into neighboring Panamint valley before continuing to Ridgecrest
Day
7
DEATH VALLEY NATIONAL PARK / RIDGECREST » LAKE ISABELLA » LOS ANGELES (220 mi / 354 km)
Today, head west to Lake Isabella and follow the beautiful Kern River through the southern end of Sequoia National Forrest to Bakersfield. Then, turn south and travel through the San Gabriel Mountains to the megalopolis of Los Angeles.
